Cher Époux Inconnu, Je Veux Divorcer #1

Cher Époux Inconnu, Je Veux Divorcer was a French romance comic series that emerged during the mid-20th century, a period when illustrated sentiment-driven periodicals for women gained significant traction in Europe. This specific title, centering on the complexities of marital dissolution and emotional intrigue, was designed to appeal to readers looking for dramatic, serialized narratives that mirrored the social anxieties and changing domestic dynamics of the era.

The publication followed the aesthetic traditions of the petit format digests, utilizing expressive, romanticized illustrations typical of the period's house styles. While individual artists were rarely credited in these ephemeral pocket-sized booklets, the work reflects the collective efforts of anonymous illustrators employed by specialized romance publishers to provide escapist content through stylized line art and melodramatic storytelling. The series is remembered primarily as a cultural artifact representing the widespread popularity of sentimental pulp fiction during the post-war decades.
