Where it came from
Chiyu Mahō no Machigatta Tsukaikata: Senjō wo Kakeru Kaifuku Yōin, known in English as The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic, originated as a light novel series written by Kurokata and illustrated by KeG. The narrative centers on Ken Usato, an ordinary student who is inadvertently summoned to a fantasy world alongside two classmates, only to discover his rare affinity for healing magic leads to a grueling and unconventional military training regimen.
The manga adaptation, which includes the seventeenth installment, features illustrations by Reki Kugayama and serializes the ongoing journey of the protagonist as he navigates the complexities of his role as a battlefield medic. The series has been recognized for its blend of action, comedy, and fantasy tropes, gaining popularity for its subversion of traditional isekai character archetypes and its focus on the physical and psychological development of its lead character.
