Where it came from
Comic Forum was a long-running and highly influential Spanish magazine dedicated to the critical study and documentation of the comic book medium. Issue #51 emerged during the mid-1980s, a period when the publication served as an essential bridge for Spanish readers to better understand the history and artistry of international comics, particularly those from the United States and France.
The editorial direction, spearheaded by figures like Antonio Martín, aimed to elevate comics from mere entertainment to a respected academic subject. By providing deep-dive articles, interviews, and detailed bibliographies, the magazine functioned as a primary archival resource for enthusiasts. This specific issue reflects the publication's commitment to analytical rigour, serving as both a historical record and a platform for intellectual discourse within the burgeoning Spanish comic community.
