Conan Newspaper Comics Collection #2

The Conan Newspaper Comics Collection, published by Dark Horse Comics, was created to preserve the original comic strip adventures of Robert E. Howard’s iconic barbarian that appeared in newspapers starting in 1978. This initiative sought to compile these daily and Sunday strips into a cohesive archival format, allowing contemporary readers to experience the storytelling and art style that defined Conan's brief but notable foray into the syndicated comic strip medium.

The second volume continues the work of illustrators like John Buscema and Ernie Chan, whose distinct styles were instrumental in maintaining the aesthetic continuity established by Roy Thomas. The design of these collections aims for a balance between historical preservation and reader accessibility, offering fans a clean, structured presentation of material that was originally ephemeral. Upon release, these collections were well-regarded by fans for bringing fragmented, hard-to-find strips into a high-quality, long-term reference format.
