Crows Gaiden: Housenka - The Beginning of Housen #24

Crows Gaiden: Housenka - The Beginning of Housen is a spin-off series set in the universe of Hiroshi Takahashi’s iconic delinquent manga, Crows. This specific chapter, number 24, follows the established narrative focus on the origins of the Housen Academy, exploring the power dynamics and historical rivalries that define the school’s notorious reputation before the events of the original series. The artwork maintains the gritty, high-contrast aesthetic that has become synonymous with the franchise, focusing on character-driven conflict and the brutal street-level atmosphere that Takahashi originally popularized in the early 1990s.

The series is authored by Shuhei Saitou under the supervision of Takahashi, designed to expand upon the lore of the 'Housen' faction specifically. It was published within the broader editorial framework of Monthly Shonen Champion, targeting fans of the long-running series who were interested in the prequel backstory of key characters. The series is received as a faithful expansion of the original mythos, praised for retaining the signature tension and visual style while offering necessary depth to the antagonist-turned-allies of the primary Crows storyline.
