Dangerous Jī-san: Daichōhen Korekushon #1

Dangerous Jī-san: Daichōhen Korekushon #1 is an installment in the long-running gag manga franchise created by Kazutoshi Soyama. Originally serialized in the influential children's anthology CoroCoro Comic, the series centers on the irreverent and chaotic antics of an elderly protagonist, known for his absurdity and slapstick humor. This particular volume functions as a special long-form compilation, gathering expanded narratives that diverge from the standard monthly chapter format.

The design and tone reflect the high-energy, deliberately crude aesthetic that defined early 2000s children's manga in Japan. Soyama’s work was noted for its departure from traditional moralizing in comics, opting instead for a rapid-fire style that resonated strongly with primary school readers. Upon its release, the series became a cornerstone of its publisher's lineup, praised by its demographic for its uncompromising commitment to surreal, low-brow comedy.
