Dangerous Jī-san wo Yonde Ita Kimi e: Soyama Kazutoshi no Gokuraku Mangaka Nikki #1

This work serves as an autobiographical entry into the prolific career of Kazutoshi Soyama, a creator widely recognized for his long-running and irreverent manga series Zettai Zetsumei Dangerous Jī-san. Published within the Shogakukan ecosystem, this volume shifts the focus from the chaotic exploits of the titular grandfather to the real-world experiences of the author himself. It captures the frantic, often surreal environment of manga production, offering readers a peek behind the curtain of CoroCoro Comic’s editorial style.

The design and narrative approach reflect Soyama’s signature brand of manic, gag-focused humor. By documenting his daily life, the book blends factual observation with the hyperbolic, high-energy illustration style that defined his success in the children's manga market. It was produced as a lighthearted retrospective for fans who grew up reading his work, grounding his legacy as one of the most recognizable voices in late 20th and early 21st-century Japanese slapstick comedy.
