Daredevil #190

Published in January 1983, Daredevil #190 stands as a significant moment in the series' history during Frank Miller’s seminal run on the character. The issue serves as a poignant conclusion to the 'Child's Play' storyline, focusing heavily on the internal psychological struggles of Matt Murdock as he confronts the reality of his past actions and the consequences of his vigilante lifestyle. It is a character-driven narrative that leans into the darker, grittier atmosphere that Miller established for the title, solidifying the series' reputation for mature storytelling within the mainstream superhero landscape.

The issue features cover art and interior writing by Frank Miller, with illustrations by Terry Austin and Klaus Janson. Miller’s approach to Daredevil during this period was characterized by a deconstruction of the hero’s morality, utilizing sharp, noir-influenced visuals and complex internal monologues. The creative team aimed to explore the toll of grief and redemption, and the work was received as a quintessential example of the shift toward more sophisticated thematic depth in early 1980s Marvel comics.
