Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko #3

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko, translated as Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl, began as a light novel series written by Hitoma Iruma and illustrated by Buriki. The third volume, published in Japan in 2009 by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko imprint, continues the story of protagonist Makoto Niwa as he navigates life with his cousin Erio Touwa, a girl who identifies as an alien. The series is celebrated for its blend of slice-of-life comedy and psychological surrealism, often centering on themes of alienation and youthful confusion.

The character designs by Buriki are particularly notable for their vibrant, stylized aesthetic, which helped define the visual identity of the Dengeki Bunko lineup during this period. The third volume specifically deepened the exploration of the supporting cast, moving the narrative focus beyond Erio to include other students at Makoto's high school. Upon release, the series was well-received for its unique voice and led to a popular anime adaptation by Shaft, which further cemented the visual language established by Buriki’s illustrations.
