Détectives #3

Détectives was a short-lived French monthly magazine published in the mid-1930s, emerging during a period when the pulp fiction format was gaining significant traction in European popular culture. This series sought to capitalize on the public's fascination with mystery, crime reporting, and investigative journalism, blending sensationalist storytelling with illustrated narratives that reflected the stylistic sensibilities of the era's graphic design.

The visual language of the publication, including issue number three, utilized the high-contrast aesthetic and bold typography common to French newsstands of the time. While the primary creative forces behind the series remained largely anonymous contributors focused on the burgeoning true-crime market, the layout aimed to evoke a sense of urgency and intrigue, mirroring the dramatic tone favored by readers of interwar crime periodicals.
