Die Adler Roms #8

Die Adler Roms, known in French as Les Aigles de Rome, is a historical graphic novel series created by Italian author and illustrator Enrico Marini. Launched in 2007, the series explores the complex and often violent relationship between two men—Arminius, a Germanic prince, and Marcus, a Roman noble—growing up in the shadow of the Roman Empire. The narrative is heavily researched, aiming to balance gritty realism with a cinematic visual style that highlights the brutal clash of cultures during the early first century AD.

Issue number eight serves as a continuation of Marini’s ambitious saga, maintaining his signature aesthetic defined by dynamic compositions, evocative coloring, and meticulous attention to period-accurate armor and architecture. The work is widely regarded for its immersive storytelling and Marini's ability to transition from the opulent, decadent halls of Rome to the unforgiving, atmospheric landscapes of the Germanic forests. The series has received consistent praise for its artistic maturity and its successful reinvention of the historical epic within the Franco-Belgian comic tradition.
