Doll Oji: #Doll ni Hamatta Ojisan no Hanashi #2

Doll Oji: #Doll ni Hamatta Ojisan no Hanashi, or 'The Story of a Middle-Aged Man Obsessed with Dolls,' is a niche manga series that explores the nuanced and often poignant intersection between adult hobbies and social perception. The second volume continues the narrative arc of the protagonist, a salaryman whose private passion for high-end fashion dolls provides both a sanctuary from his rigid professional life and a catalyst for complex personal growth.

The series is authored and illustrated by the creator known as Oji, who utilizes a gentle, observational tone to depict the protagonist's interactions with the doll community. The work is notable for its respectful treatment of hobbyist subcultures, aiming to normalize the emotional fulfillment found in creative collecting rather than framing it as a caricature. Upon its release, it received positive recognition within specialized manga circles for its empathetic storytelling and detailed renderings of the dolls themselves, which reflect the aesthetic standards of the real-world ball-jointed doll market.
