Don Lawrence - Meister der Illustrations- und Comickunst #2

The second volume of the 'Meister der Illustrations- und Comickunst' series, published by Finix Comics, serves as a dedicated tribute to the legendary British artist Don Lawrence. This series was conceptualized to provide a comprehensive look at the careers of master illustrators whose work defined the golden age of adventure comics, particularly those with a significant following in the European market. The volume was created to celebrate Lawrence's unparalleled technical mastery, specifically his signature use of painted panels and meticulous attention to detail in high-fantasy and science-fiction narratives.

The design of the book focuses on the archival presentation of Lawrence's expansive portfolio, including his seminal work on 'The Trigan Empire' and 'Storm.' The editorial team behind this project aimed to contextualize Lawrence's influence on the medium, highlighting his transition from traditional ink work to the lush, atmospheric painterly style that became his hallmark. The volume was well-received by the European collector community, earning praise for its high production values and for providing a definitive reference guide that bridges the gap between commercial comic production and fine art illustration.
