Don't Confuse Me, Yamori-kun #1

Don't Confuse Me, Yamori-kun is a shojo manga series serialized in the Japanese magazine Bessatsu Friend. The first volume serves as an introduction to the comedic and romantic dynamics between the central characters, typical of the lighthearted school-life subgenre that gained prominence in the late 2010s. The series was created by the manga artist Ema Toyama, who is known for her prolific output and distinctive character-driven narratives that often blend earnest emotional beats with situational humor.

The design and artistic direction of the first issue reflect the polished, aesthetic sensibilities common to contemporary shojo publications, featuring expressive character designs and dynamic paneling meant to emphasize the protagonist's internal monologue. Upon its release, the volume was positioned to appeal to readers seeking approachable, character-focused stories. It received a standard reception within the competitive manga market, characterized by modest but steady engagement from fans of the author's previous works and general readers of the genre.
