Double-Dare Adventures #2

Double-Dare Adventures was launched by Harvey Comics in 1966 as part of the publisher's push into the superhero genre during the height of the Silver Age. Issue number two, released in early 1967, served as a platform for the character Magicmaster, a magician-turned-superhero. The series was designed to compete with the high-energy, campy aesthetics popularized by the Batman television show of the era, blending traditional comic book heroism with a distinctively whimsical tone.

The creative direction for the series relied on the classic Harvey house style, characterized by accessible layouts and dynamic action panels. While the title struggled to find a long-term audience in a marketplace dominated by DC and Marvel, it is remembered by enthusiasts for its unique place in Harvey's experimental phase. The second issue remains a notable example of the publisher's attempts to diversify their catalog beyond their staple humor and children’s titles.
