Elektra #19

Elektra #19, published in 2003, represents a significant chapter in the character's second ongoing series under Marvel Comics. The issue was written by Robert Rodi with interior art provided by Cliff Chiang. This period of the series was characterized by a push to refine Elektra Natchios's narrative away from her traditional ninja tropes toward a more grounded, internal exploration of her identity as an assassin operating within the modern Marvel Universe.

The creative direction for this specific issue benefited from Cliff Chiang's distinct, clean aesthetic, which offered a stark contrast to the gritty, shadow-heavy style often associated with Elektra. The series as a whole was generally regarded by critics as a successful attempt to modernize the character's appeal, emphasizing psychological depth. While individual issues like number 19 served as episodic installments within larger arcs, they remain noted among collectors for their illustrative quality and their contribution to the post-Frank Miller evolution of the character.
