Where it came from
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest is the official sequel to Hiro Mashima's long-running manga series Fairy Tail, picking up immediately after the conclusion of the original story. The series was launched in 2018 on the Magazine Pocket app, with storyboard illustrations by Mashima and art duties handled by Atsuo Ueda. This specific volume continues the quest undertaken by Natsu Dragneel and his guildmates to seal away the Five Dragon Gods, a narrative expansion that honors the tone and character dynamics of the primary series while raising the stakes of their magical adventures.
Atsuo Ueda, known for his work on Dr. Prisoner and Hajime Shacho Monogatari, maintains the energetic character designs established by Mashima while refining the series' dynamic action sequences. Volume 6 specifically chronicles the ongoing confrontations within the labyrinth of Elentear, showcasing the growth of the Fairy Tail members against increasingly powerful adversaries. Since its debut, the sequel has been well-received by the established fan base for its commitment to the spirit of the original franchise and its ability to broaden the world-building of Ishgar and beyond.
