Fantastic Four #17

Fantastic Four #17 was published by Marvel Comics in August 1963, emerging during the foundational early years of the Marvel Age of Comics. Created by the collaborative team of writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, the issue reflects the era's focus on introducing recurring, high-stakes antagonists to challenge the team's internal dynamics. This specific story features the return of Doctor Doom, solidifying his role as the primary foil to the Fantastic Four as the series began to establish its long-form narrative structure.

The visual storytelling in this issue highlights Jack Kirby’s signature dynamic page layouts and bold character design, which were central to defining the aesthetic of the Silver Age. Lee’s dialogue complemented these visuals by emphasizing the familial tensions and scientific wonder that set the series apart from its contemporaries.
