Fantastic Four #387

Fantastic Four #387, published by Marvel Comics in April 1994, was written by Tom DeFalco with interior art by Paul Ryan. Released during a period when the Fantastic Four were navigating the aftermath of various editorial shifts, the issue focuses on the internal dynamics of the team as they grapple with the evolving threats within the Marvel Universe. It reflects the mid-nineties aesthetic of the title, prioritizing high-stakes melodrama and the enduring focus on the group as a fractured family unit.

Paul Ryan’s contributions to the series during this era were known for a clean, traditional approach that maintained continuity with the classic Fantastic Four style established by earlier creators. The issue continues the 'Nobody Gets Out Alive' storyline, which sought to heighten tension among the characters through shifting alliances and personal conflict. While this era of the Fantastic Four is often viewed through the lens of mid-nineties comics trends, the work remains a distinct entry in the character history of the Reed Richards-led quartet.
