Fantastic Four Annual #21

Fantastic Four Annual #21 was published by Marvel Comics in 1988 as part of the long-running annual series dedicated to the publisher's flagship superhero quartet. During this period, the Fantastic Four's ongoing adventures were heavily influenced by the editorial direction of the late eighties, which sought to maintain the legacy of the original Stan Lee and Jack Kirby creations while integrating them into the increasingly interconnected Marvel Universe.

The issue features work by writer Steve Englehart and artist Joe Staton, who aimed to explore the team's dynamics through a lens of cosmic mystery and interpersonal tension. The storytelling reflects the era's focus on expansive, multi-dimensional narratives that defined the late eighties Marvel aesthetic. As a standard annual release, it was designed as a self-contained story that could capture both regular readers and those looking for a standalone entry point into the mythos of Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben.
