Farewell, Daisy: Jun Mayuzuki Short Story Collection #1

Farewell, Daisy is a compilation of short stories by the acclaimed manga artist Jun Mayuzuki, released as a retrospective volume that highlights her stylistic evolution prior to her breakout success with titles like After the Rain. These stories were originally published in various magazines during the earlier years of her career, serving as a laboratory for the emotive, character-driven storytelling and delicate line work that would define her later, more prominent series.

The volume captures a transitional period in Mayuzuki’s aesthetic, focusing on themes of quiet introspection and the poignant shifts in personal relationships. By collecting these pieces, the publisher provided readers with a deeper look at the artistic foundations of her craft. The work was received by audiences as a tender expansion of her established world, appreciated specifically for its ability to distill complex emotional weight into the concise format of the short story.
