FemForce #136

FemForce #136 was published by AC Comics as part of their long-running series featuring a team of Golden Age-style superheroines. The series, which debuted in the mid-1980s, was created by Bill Black as a deliberate homage to the comic book aesthetics and archetypes of the 1940s and 1950s. By the time this issue was released in the mid-2000s, the title had established a dedicated niche following through its blend of retro-pulp sensibilities and modern independent comic production.

The art and editorial direction of this period remained largely guided by Bill Black’s vision of maintaining a distinct, classic-inspired house style. Like many entries in the FemForce saga, this issue focuses on high-adventure narratives that celebrate the enduring appeal of the team's core members. The series is recognized primarily for its consistency in tone and its commitment to a specific, self-contained universe that has survived numerous shifts in the wider comic book industry.
