FemForce #142

FemForce issue 142 was published by AC Comics as part of their long-running series featuring an all-female team of superheroes. The series, which debuted in the mid-1980s, is known for its homage to the Golden Age of comic books and its distinctive art style, which draws heavily from the aesthetic of mid-century pulp and superhero comics. This specific issue continues the series' established tradition of blending retro-inspired heroics with long-form storytelling that has maintained a niche, dedicated following for decades.

The creative direction of FemForce is largely overseen by Bill Black, who founded AC Comics with a focus on preserving the spirit of comic book history while introducing original female-led narratives. The design and illustration for this era of the series lean into the classic pin-up and action-adventure tropes that defined the series from its inception. Like much of the AC Comics catalog, the issue is appreciated by collectors for its commitment to a consistent, nostalgic artistic vision that has remained largely unchanged despite shifts in the broader comic industry.
