FemForce #41

FemForce issue 41 was published in 1991 by AC Comics, serving as a continuation of the long-running series created by Bill Black. The title was born out of the independent comic book movement of the 1980s, focusing on an all-female team of superheroes styled in the tradition of Golden Age comic book art. This issue specifically showcases the distinctive retro-aesthetic and campy, pulp-inspired storytelling that characterized the series under Black's guidance.

The art and narrative direction of this period were heavily influenced by Black’s affinity for classic comic tropes and the 'good girl art' style. FemForce established a dedicated niche following by blending nostalgic illustrations with modern independent publishing practices. While the series was often seen as a tribute to mid-century comics, it maintained a consistent, if insular, presence in the industry by catering to a specific demographic of collectors who appreciated its commitment to traditional superhero archetypes.
