Gøg og Gokke #14

The Gøg og Gokke comic book series, published in Denmark, was a long-running collection dedicated to the slapstick antics of the legendary comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. These issues typically featured a combination of translated international strips and original stories, serving as a staple of Danish juvenile humor during the mid-to-late 20th century. Issue #14, like its peers, was designed to capture the expressive physical comedy and distinct visual chemistry of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, translating their cinematic timing into static panel narratives for a readership fond of classic variety entertainment.

The design of these comics leaned heavily on the iconic character silhouettes familiar to global audiences. While the creative teams often utilized a rotating pool of European illustrators to maintain the series, the editorial goal remained consistent: to preserve the innocent, bumbling charm that defined the duo's screen persona. Upon release, these issues were received primarily as lighthearted entertainment rather than high-art literature, solidifying their place in the domestic market as affordable, accessible escapism for children and nostalgia seekers alike.
