Gøg og Gokke #18

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish localized title for the legendary comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, was published as a long-running comic book series in Denmark. These issues featured illustrated adaptations of the duo’s classic film antics translated into the medium of sequential art, catering to the enduring popularity of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy in Scandinavia throughout the mid-20th century.

The publication was part of a broader wave of humor-based comics that aimed to capitalize on the nostalgia for slapstick cinema. While the specific illustrations often varied depending on the contributing artists of the era, the series relied on the recognizable character archetypes of the bumbling duo to maintain consistency for a younger audience, serving as a nostalgic extension of the films rather than an attempt to redefine the characters.
