Gøg og Gokke #197511

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish localized title for the legendary comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, was published as a recurring comic book series in Denmark during the 1970s. The November 1975 issue, identified by the code 197511, belongs to a period where the duo's classic films remained a staple of Danish television and humor culture. These comics typically adapted the slapstick physical comedy of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy into illustrated short stories, relying on recognizable visual gags and the established character dynamics of the bumbling pair.

The publication was part of a broader European trend of licensing American film icons for pulp comic formats, intended to provide lighthearted, accessible entertainment for youth and fans of golden age cinema. The artwork was commissioned by publishing houses like Gutenberghus, who frequently employed European artists to emulate the cinematic likenesses of the actors. While the comics were not intended as high art, they served as a vital bridge between the duo's early-century film legacy and the comic-reading audience of the mid-1970s.
