Gøg og Gokke #197512

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish localized title for Laurel and Hardy, was published as a comic book series in Denmark throughout the 1970s. This specific issue, numbered 197512, belongs to the series' mid-decade run, which focused on translating classic American newspaper comic strips and original European adaptations of the iconic comedy duo's antics into a format accessible to Scandinavian readers. These comics were largely marketed toward children and nostalgic fans of the original films.

The design of these issues relied heavily on the established visual language of the Laurel and Hardy brand, utilizing classic stills or commissioned illustrations that captured the duo's signature slapstick chemistry. Published by Gutenberghus, now known as Egmont, the series followed a standard format for European licensed comics of the era. The production was intended to capitalize on the enduring popularity of the films in television reruns, providing readers with narrative extensions of the pair’s bumbling, well-meaning personality traits.
