Gøg og Gokke #197513

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish title for the iconic comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, has enjoyed a long-standing presence in European comic culture. Issue #197513 emerged during the mid-1970s, a period when the duo's classic films were experiencing a resurgence in popularity across Scandinavia, prompting publishers to repackage their slapstick antics into serialized comic strip formats for a new generation of readers.

These comics were primarily produced by licensed Scandinavian publishing houses, which adapted classic MGM and Hal Roach film scenarios into illustrated panel narratives. The design and illustrative style followed the established visual shorthand of the time, emphasizing simplified caricature and dynamic sight gags to translate the physical comedy of the films onto the page. While intended as lighthearted entertainment, these issues are now collected as artifacts of mid-century cinematic cross-media marketing.
