Gøg og Gokke #25

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish name for the legendary comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, enjoyed immense popularity in Scandinavia, leading to the creation of a long-running comic book series based on their likenesses. Issue number 25 was part of a robust publishing effort that sought to translate the physical humor and slapstick dynamics of the films into a static, sequential art format, catering to a mid-century audience that embraced character-driven humor.

The publication was largely defined by its commitment to the spirit of Hal Roach's films, often utilizing art styles that emphasized the contrast between the tall, thin Hardy and the short, stout Laurel. While the series was often produced by various European publishing houses under license, the design focused on episodic gag-driven narratives. It was received as a lighthearted staple of Danish newsstands, reflecting the enduring cross-generational appeal of the duo's cinematic performances.
