Gøg og Gokke #24

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish localized title for Laurel and Hardy, enjoyed a long-running comic book series in Denmark that adapted the iconic film duo's slapstick humor into print. Issue #24 belongs to the mid-period of the series' publication, which spanned several decades beginning in the 1950s. During this era, the comics were produced by Danish publishers who licensed the likenesses to create original gag-based narratives that captured the distinct, bumbling dynamic of the performers for a Scandinavian audience.

The visual style of the comics was heavily influenced by traditional European humor magazines, emphasizing expressive facial work and situational comedy. While the artists often worked under editorial houses that did not always credit individual creators, the aesthetic reflected a commitment to maintaining the recognizability of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. The series was well-received as a staple of Danish newsstand culture, serving as a nostalgic bridge for generations of readers who grew up watching the original films on television.
