Gøg og Gokke #61

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish localized title for the Laurel and Hardy film series, was published as a long-running comic book series in Denmark. The series featured adaptations and original stories depicting the comedic duo, reflecting the immense international popularity of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy during the mid-20th century. These comics were part of a broader European tradition of translating American film comedy into serialized print media to reach younger audiences.

The design and illustration of these issues evolved under various publishers, including Illustrationsforlaget and later Gutenberghus, which became a powerhouse for licensed comic properties in Scandinavia. Issue #61 represents a period where the character interpretations had become well-established in the Danish market, focusing on slapstick visual gags tailored to the comic medium. They were received primarily as lighthearted entertainment, serving as a staple of newsstand culture for decades.
