Ghostbusters Funko Universe One Shot #1

The Ghostbusters Funko Universe One-Shot #1 was published by IDW Publishing in 2017 as part of a crossover promotional initiative between IDW and the collectible manufacturer Funko. This collaboration sought to bridge the gap between licensed comic book storytelling and the popular Pop! vinyl aesthetic, featuring characters rendered in the distinct, large-eyed, minimalist style that defined the Funko brand during its period of rapid growth in the mid-2010s.

The issue was illustrated and designed to capture the cross-media appeal of the Ghostbusters franchise while adhering to the visual brand identity of the Funko Universe line. By utilizing the company's trademark character proportions, the creators intended to offer a lighthearted, accessible entry point for younger readers and collectors alike. Upon its release, it was received primarily as a novelty item for dedicated toy collectors and fans of the Funko aesthetic rather than as a core installment of the broader Ghostbusters comic canon.
