Hare-Kon #8

Hare-Kon, serialized in the Japanese shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Magazine between 2014 and 2019, was created by the artist NON. The series follows the life of Koharu, a young woman who returns to her hometown only to find herself embroiled in a complex polyamorous arrangement sanctioned by local law. The narrative explores themes of traditional versus unconventional domestic dynamics, balancing comedic misunderstandings with dramatic tension as the characters navigate their unique living situation.

The eighth volume continues the series' established aesthetic, characterized by NON's clean line work and expressive character designs that prioritize emotional nuance over overly stylized action. Upon its release, the series garnered attention for its unconventional premise within the mainstream manga market, finding a dedicated audience that appreciated the series' focus on relational development and the societal friction caused by its central conceit.
