Hellraiser: Resurrections - The Deep Gospel #1

Hellraiser: Resurrections - The Deep Gospel #1 was published in 1992 by Marvel Comics under their Epic Comics imprint. It emerged during a period when Clive Barker’s Cenobites enjoyed significant popularity in comic book form, serving as part of a series intended to deepen the mythology surrounding the Lament Configuration and the hellish dimensions of the Order of the Gash. The narrative aimed to provide a darker, more philosophical exploration of the franchise's core themes of pain and transcendence.

The creative direction for the issue focused on atmospheric, visceral storytelling that aligned with the grim aesthetic of the original films. Contributors included writers and illustrators who worked within the established canon of the Hellraiser universe to expand upon its lore. Upon its release, the comic was received by fans as a faithful continuation of the source material, capturing the grim visual style and existential dread that defined the series at the time.
