Heroes for Hire #10

Published in April 1998, Heroes for Hire #10 serves as a pivotal installment in the series created by writer John Ostrander and artist Pasqual Ferry. The title emerged from the post-Heroes Reborn era, aiming to revitalize classic Marvel street-level characters like Luke Cage and Iron Fist by positioning them within a modern, investigative agency framework that balanced superhero action with gritty urban drama.

The issue is noted for its contribution to the ongoing narrative arcs of the 1990s Marvel landscape, specifically integrating characters into the larger cosmic and supernatural events of that period. Pasqual Ferry’s distinct, stylized visual approach was well-regarded for its kinetic energy, helping to distinguish the book’s aesthetic from the more traditional house style of the time, even as the series faced the challenging market conditions of the late nineties.
