Il Giornalino #v. 90 no. 36

Il Giornalino is a long-running Italian weekly magazine for children and young adults, originally established by the Pauline Fathers in 1924. Its mission centered on providing educational and morally wholesome entertainment, blending traditional comic strips with journalistic content, current events, and features on science and literature. By the time this issue was published in the early 2010s, the magazine maintained its legacy as a staple of Italian Catholic youth media, focusing on character-driven narratives that often leaned toward historical, biographical, or adventure-based storytelling.

The design and editorial direction during this period reflected a bridge between the classic hand-drawn aesthetic of the mid-20th century and the demands of a modern digital age. The publication relied on a stable of veteran artists and writers who prioritized clear, classic layouts and linear storytelling. The issue represents the magazine's ongoing efforts to remain relevant in a shifting media landscape, balancing long-standing columns with contemporary graphic styles, and it is widely viewed by collectors as a significant piece of Italian publishing history that helped preserve the medium of the 'fumetto' for successive generations.
