Incredible Hulk #106

Incredible Hulk #106 was published by Marvel Comics in August 1968. It arrived during a transformative era for the character, as the series had recently split from the shared 'Tales to Astonish' title to reclaim its own solo monthly publication. This period was defined by an ongoing effort to balance the Hulk's immense, destructive power with the tragic, fugitive nature of Bruce Banner, often pitting him against a mix of emerging sci-fi threats and military antagonists.

The issue features cover art and interior pencils by Marie Severin, a pivotal figure in Marvel's history who served as the company's art director during the late 1960s. Her work on this title is noted for its expressive character designs and dynamic layout choices, which helped solidify the visual language of the Hulk during the late Silver Age. The story continues the title's momentum by pushing the character further into the cosmic and psychological conflicts that would become hallmarks of his long-running narrative.
