Incredible Hulk #107

Published in September 1968, Incredible Hulk #107 represents a transitional moment in the character's publication history during the Silver Age of Marvel Comics. Following the success of the character's feature in Tales to Astonish, the title transitioned back to a solo series with this issue, picking up the numbering where the original 1962 series left off. This period focused on the narrative efforts of writer Gary Friedrich and artist Marie Severin, who helped define the aesthetic shift of the late 1960s.

The interior art by Marie Severin is particularly noted by collectors for its expressive quality and clean lines, which brought a distinct stylistic personality to the Hulk’s brooding, often chaotic adventures. In this issue, the Hulk faces off against the Mentallo and the Fixer, reflecting the era's penchant for colorful, gadget-oriented antagonists. The issue remains a consistent fixture for collectors who prioritize the Silver Age numbering and the singular artistic contributions of Severin, who was one of the few prominent female artists working at Marvel during this decade.
