Justice League International #67

Justice League International #67 was published in 1994 as part of the long-running DC Comics series that began in the late 1980s. Following the massive shift in tone after the 1987 relaunch by Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis, the series became known for its blend of superhero action and workplace sitcom humor. By the time this issue was released, the title was nearing its conclusion as DC prepared to shift the focus of its Justice League lines toward more serious, gritty narratives.

This issue features the work of writer Gerard Jones and artist Chuck Wojtkiewicz, who were tasked with maintaining the momentum of the title during a period of creative transition for the Justice League brand. The design of the era emphasized a rotating cast of global heroes, prioritizing interpersonal character dynamics and ensemble interactions over the traditional 'big seven' dynamic. The issue is noted by collectors primarily for its place in the final stretch of the JLI era, capturing a specific moment in 90s comic book storytelling before the series was ultimately cancelled.
