Justice League of America: Another Nail #3

Justice League of America: Another Nail #3 was released in 2004 as the concluding installment of a three-issue prestige format miniseries. Written and illustrated by Alan Davis with inks by Mark Farmer, this project served as the direct sequel to the acclaimed 1998 Elseworlds story The Nail. The narrative explores an alternate DC Universe where Superman's ship was never discovered by the Kents, leading to a world where superheroes are met with deep public suspicion and institutional hostility.

Alan Davis brought his signature clean, dynamic aesthetic to the series, focusing on a sprawling, multiversal conflict that required balancing the entire Justice League roster against cosmic threats. The series was designed to serve as a love letter to the Silver and Bronze Ages of DC Comics, utilizing the Elseworlds imprint to bypass current continuity constraints. It received generally positive reviews for its cohesive world-building and Davis's polished, classicist art style, standing as a notable example of the auteur-driven limited series common at DC during the early 2000s.
