Karate Kid #10

Karate Kid #10, published by DC Comics in 1978, serves as a notable installment in the short-lived solo series featuring Val Armorr, a character originally introduced in the Legion of Super-Heroes. By the late 1970s, DC sought to capitalize on the rising popularity of martial arts cinema in Western pop culture, spinning off the character into his own title to explore his origins and skills beyond the constraints of his team-based adventures.

The issue features artwork and narrative direction consistent with the series' attempt to blend traditional superhero tropes with gritty, martial-arts-focused storytelling. While the series was brief, lasting only fifteen issues, it remains a point of interest for collectors of Silver and Bronze Age comics who value the expansion of the 30th-century DC universe. The series as a whole is remembered for its specific focus on the technical aspects of the character's discipline, reflecting the aesthetic sensibilities of comic illustration during that era.
