Kei × Yaku: Abunai Aibō #13

Kei × Yaku: Abunai Aibō was created by manga artist Kaori Yuuki, originating as a serialized title in Kodansha's Palcy manga app. The story centers on the unlikely partnership between Ichiro Kunishita, a dedicated police investigator, and Shiro Hanabusa, a charismatic yakuza boss, as they navigate a complex conspiracy involving their pasts. The series blends elements of crime drama, mystery, and character-driven intrigue, finding a distinct niche by subverting genre expectations through the central dynamic of its leads.

The visual direction of the series is characterized by Yuuki's fluid character designs and moody, atmospheric paneling, which emphasizes the tension and developing intimacy between the protagonists. As a serialized digital-to-print release, issue 13 represents a late-stage installment in the narrative arc, reflecting the refined art style and heightened stakes established over the course of the run. It was well-received for its balanced approach to action and emotional development, earning a dedicated readership that eventually led to a live-action television adaptation in 2022.
