Kei × Yaku: Abunai Aibō #15

Kei × Yaku: Abunai Aibō, written and illustrated by Kaoru Yukawa, originated as a serialized manga in the Japanese magazine Palcy. The narrative follows the unconventional partnership between a disciplined public security officer and a methodical yakuza member, blending elements of the crime-thriller and buddy-cop genres. The series is noted for its stylized character designs and the shifting dynamics of trust between its two leads, which helped it gain a steady readership interested in character-driven suspense.

Issue 15 represents a specific chapter within the broader arc of the series, reflecting Yukawa's intent to explore the psychological tensions inherent in the protagonists' secret alliance. As the manga progressed, the visual presentation evolved to emphasize the atmospheric contrast between the gritty criminal underworld and the rigid bureaucracy of the police force. The series was well-received for its tight pacing and the way it navigated the complex ethical compromises demanded of its characters, eventually leading to a live-action television adaptation.
