Kenja no Deshi wo Nanoru Kenja [The Comic] #1

Kenja no Deshi wo Nanoru Kenja, or She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man, originated as a light novel series written by Hirotsugu Ryusen. The manga adaptation, illustrated by Dicca Suemitsu, began serialization in 2016 through Micro Magazine’s Comic Ride website. It was developed to expand the reach of the original isekai fantasy narrative, which centers on a player trapped in a virtual reality game who assumes the avatar of a young girl rather than his original elderly wizard character.

The character designs and visual storytelling were crafted by Suemitsu to balance the series' signature comedic identity swaps with the expansive high-fantasy aesthetic of the Nine Realms. The first volume collects the initial chapters that establish the protagonist's transition into the body of Mira, providing the foundation for the series' subsequent popularity in both digital and print formats within the Japanese light novel and manga market.
