La Zorra y el Cuervo #158

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban humor magazine that began publication in the mid-1960s, serving as a vital outlet for satire, caricature, and social commentary. Established following the Cuban Revolution, the magazine became a cornerstone of the nation’s graphic arts scene, providing a platform for artists to engage with both local cultural quirks and international political themes under the editorial direction of various prominent Cuban cartoonists.

The design of the magazine was defined by its sharp, minimalist aesthetic and a focus on visual storytelling that bridged the gap between folk wisdom and modern political satire. Issue #158 fits into the long-running legacy of the publication, which sought to maintain a tone of witty subversion while navigating the specific socio-political landscape of the era. The contributors were generally celebrated for their ability to blend traditional illustration styles with bold, expressive line work, ensuring the magazine remained a staple in Cuban newsstands for decades.
