La Zorra y el Cuervo #201

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban humor magazine that drew inspiration from Aesop’s fables, specifically centering on the cunning fox and the naive crow. First published in 1964, the magazine became a cultural staple in Cuba, known for its biting political satire and clever social commentary. Issue number 201 reflects the magazine's long-standing dedication to caricature, featuring the work of various Cuban artists who used the classic archetypes of the fox and the crow to navigate complex themes of daily life, morality, and bureaucracy under the revolutionary regime.

The publication was highly regarded for its distinctive graphic style, which leaned heavily into expressive, minimalist illustration to ensure the content remained accessible yet intellectually stimulating. Artists contributing to the series often focused on humanizing the animal figures to mirror the audience's own experiences, creating a unique visual language that defined the magazine's identity for decades. By the time issue 201 reached newsstands, the magazine had firmly established itself as a vessel for wit and critique, serving as an important historical artifact of mid-to-late 20th-century Cuban editorial design.
