La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban humor magazine that began publication in the mid-1960s. Serving as a cultural touchstone for satire and caricature, the series focused on social commentary and political humor, often utilizing anthropomorphic characters to navigate the complexities of daily life in Cuba. Issue 199 arrived during the magazine's long-standing tenure as a staple of Cuban newsstands, reflecting the established aesthetic of the period characterized by bold line work and mid-century editorial illustration styles.

The publication was overseen by a rotating collective of Cuba’s most respected cartoonists and writers, who utilized the platform to reflect regional perspectives through a lens of wit and lighthearted cynicism. It was received as a beloved fixture of intellectual discourse, providing a necessary creative outlet that balanced rigorous social critique with accessible, illustrative storytelling.
