Where it came from
Lady Devil #2 was published in 1980 by Edifumetto, an Italian publisher renowned for its prolific output of adult-oriented fumetti during the late 1970s and 1980s. The series was designed to fit within the popular 'fumetti neri' or 'sexy fumetti' genre, which blended elements of crime, mystery, and eroticism. It was produced during a period when the Italian comic market was heavily saturated with pocket-sized, black-and-white publications intended for a mature readership.
The character and visual identity of Lady Devil were spearheaded by the creative teams at Edifumetto, often featuring work from artists and writers who remained largely anonymous or operated under pseudonyms. The design aesthetic emphasized high-contrast ink work and dramatic, suspenseful pacing typical of the time. Upon release, these issues were received primarily as disposable pulp entertainment, though they have since gained interest among scholars and collectors who study the influence of Mediterranean erotic comics on international pop culture.
