Le château des Animaux #3

Le château des Animaux, an acclaimed graphic novel series written by Xavier Dorison and illustrated by Félix Delep, was launched in 2018 as a poignant reimagining of George Orwell’s Animal Farm. The third volume continues the story of Miss B, a rabbit leading a non-violent resistance against the tyrannical rule of Silvio the bull, reflecting themes of social justice, civil disobedience, and the mechanics of power. The series was conceived to explore the historical echoes of totalitarianism through the accessible, fable-like structure of an anthropomorphic animal society.

Félix Delep’s artistic approach for the series relies on a textured, classic European comic style that evokes the spirit of 20th-century animation and illustration. By utilizing warm, earthy tones and expressive character design, the visual language aims to ground the political narrative in a tangible, relatable world. Upon its release, the third installment was met with critical praise for its ability to balance intense emotional stakes with a nuanced exploration of leadership and revolutionary ethics, further solidifying the series as a significant work in contemporary French comics.
